Asset Management Team
Closing date:

“Our staff are our most valuable asset”

About us

Michael Dyson Associates Ltd, is an established, successful and prominent multi-disciplinary construction consultancy providing a comprehensive range of professional services to the housing sector.  Established in 1980 we have four decades of wide-ranging experience working with clients throughout the UK.

The Role

Based at our modern Head Office in Huddersfield this is a fantastic opportunity to join our Asset Management Team as a Surveying Technician to undertake a variety of challenging and ‘hands on’ surveying projects throughout the UK.

The role involves the inspection and assessment of Non-Traditional properties, including high rise, to enable our clients to adequately plan for the future.

Assessments are usually of an invasive nature and will involve the use of hand & power tools to break into the fabric of a property to undertake the investigation.

This is an excellent opportunity to specialise in working with buildings of non-standard construction.

We actively encourage and fully support, both financially & professionally, successful applicants to continue on a structured training programme with us for progression to membership of a recognised professional body.  We are Training Partners with the RICS and CIOB and pride ourselves on offering some of the best training available, supporting our employees in achieving their career goals and ambitions.

Ideal Candidate:

Qualities required for this role will include:

  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Coming towards the end of (or recently completed) a ONC/HNC/NVQ construction related course (would consider applicants currently on day release)
  • Some construction related experience
  • A ‘can do’ and obliging attitude.
  • A drive to succeed in a challenging environment.
  • A willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work throughout the UK & due to the varied locations of projects staying away overnight when required

Why join us?

  • Be part of a modern, forward thinking consultancy
  • Up to 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • 3-5% Contributory pension scheme & four times salary life assurance
  • Payment of Professional Institute training/examination fees
  • Payment of professional subscription fees
  • Excellent fully funded training programme with regular in-house CPD events to support career development
  • Family friendly benefits
  • Fun social & team building events organised & paid for by the company
  • Long service reward scheme
